His Place Community Dinner
Wednesday (Sept. – June)
For over 30 years we have welcomed the community for dinner on Wednesday evenings. We begin with informal worship and prayer. The family-style meal, graciously provided by many partner churches, emphasizes hospitality and healthy food choices. We currently serve 120-150 meals each week.

6:00 Potluck Supper
Women gather for fun, fellowship, and learning, beginning with a potluck supper (you are welcome regardless of your ability to bring a dish to share). Programs cover a wide range of topics –history, prayer, games, movies, Bible study, sharing with others.
First and Third Wednesday (Sept. – June)
7:00 – 8:00
Elementary aged girls meet with a talented team of young-adult women to learn skills in a wide variety of areas. Similar to Girl Scouts, Sprouts places more emphasis on environmental awareness and practices leading to a better world today and tomorrow.
Located across Town St. on Avondale Ave., the Growing Place is an outdoor worship and learning space for the whole community. We partner with Avondale Elementary School and Gladden Community House to provide science education related to environmental sustainability. The Growing Place includes butterfly gardens, fruit trees, a weather station, and classroom seating. Plans include the addition of solar panels to provide power needed in the gardens.
